Overview
Pending traffic tickets citations have been purchased by LexisNexis (Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions through electronic municipal and county court record feeds.
It has come to my attention that Dallas pending tickets are being reported to LexisNexis and then purchased by some automobile insurance companies. Even if the case is later dismissed through deferred disposition, defensive driving school or dismissal on the trial date or if there is a finding of not guilty after a trial, Lexis Nexis may have reported the pending case to your insurance company prior to the outcome. This can possibly result in an increase in your insurance rates. It has come to my attention that the record after a dismissal or not guilty may not be updated.
Steps to Check or Report Issues
Report Disclosure: Order a personal copy of your record via the LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure online portal to see what court data is currently indexed.
Contact Support: Speak directly with a representative at Lexis Nexis Consumer Center by calling 888-497-0011.
Submit Documentation: Provide your official Texas cause/case number or ticket number, driver’s license details and court dispositions through Lexis Nexis online help portal if a pending charge was resolved or incorrectly included in their record.
Attached is the Dismissal Order for your Dallas traffic ticket. Since your case was dismissed, the ticket was not reported to the Department of Public Safety but may have been purchased by Lexi Nexis and reported to your insurance company. I also suggest sending a copy of the dismissal order to your insurance company.
